Yemeni army shoots down coalition’s reconnaissance drone in Najran

NAJRAN, Nov. 5 (YPA) – The air defenses of the Yemeni army and popular committees on Tuesday shot down a drone belonging to Saudi-led coalition off Najran, the Yemeni army spokesman  Brigadier General, Yahya Sare’e said.

According to the military spokesman, the air defenses shot down a reconnaissance aircraft for the aggression in Al-Sawh area with a suitable weapon.

The aircraft was downed while carrying out surveillance and hostilities missions inside Yemeni territory, he added

On November 1, Brigadier Yahya Sare’e announced that” air defenses of the army and popular committees shot down a US made spy plane off Asir province, southern Saudi Arabia.

He confirmed that ” Boeing Insitu ScanEagle Spy Drone”  was downed, while carrying out surveillance missions in Asir.

The drone was shot down at lines of contact off Asir in southern Saudi Arabia, he added.

Scaneagle worths 11.25 million dollars. It is an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), that locates targets from the air.
