Supreme Political Council announces martyrdom of President Al-Sammad

SANAA, April 23 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council announced in its meeting on Monday the martyrdom of President Saleh Al-Sammad.

In the meeting, the Council members approved the selection of Mahdi Mohammad Hussein Al-Mashat as President of the Council for the next session in accordance with the Council’s internal regulation.

The Council issued a statement, in which it praised the honorable positions, wisdom of the president Al-Sammad during his term and his steadfastness in the most critical circumstances the country passed through.

The statement called on the masses of the great Yemeni people to attend the martyr’s funeral, declaring the national mourning for three days and placing the national flags at a half-mast for forty days.
