Yemeni Trade Unions praise President al-Mashat’s directives

SANAA, Nov. 3 (YPA) – The General Federation of Trade Unions of Yemen on Sunday praised the directives of President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on administrative reforms.

“This trend is correct and courageous,” the Federation said in a statement. “We in the trade union movement were among the first who demanded the eradication of corruption, since it afflicted the vast majority of the Yemeni people.”

The statement affirmed that taking appropriate and fair measures against all corrupt officials without exception is the first step to make all people equal before the law and justice.

The Federation’s statement stressed the importance of concerted efforts and taking responsibility by all to ensure the success of this trend, which would alleviate a lot of suffering.
