Argentine president acknowledges his defeat in election, congratulates his opponent on winning

SANAA, Oct. 28 (YPA) – Argentina’s current president Mauricio Macri has conceded defeat in Sunday’s presidential election and congratulated his opposition rival Alberto Fernandez.

“An orderly political transition,” Macri said in a speech to his supporters on Monday.

The Argentine Response Authority announced that after counting more than 90 percent of the vote, Fernandez received 47.79 percent of the vote compared to 40.71 percent for Foxy.

Argentina’s presidential election began on Sunday morning with a contest between outgoing conservative Mauricio Macri and a long-delayed pollster and rival Alberto Fernandez.
