Top officials comment on releasing accused of presidential palace bombing

SANAA, Oct. 21 (YPA) – Yemeni Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Azi, and Abdul Malik Al-Ajri, a member of the national negotiating delegation, commented on the release of prisoners accused of the presidential palace bombing.

“The release of prisoners was not a result of the decision of any political component, but rather a violation committed by an official body belonging to a government that belongs to all, which is undoubtedly the subject of our displeasure,” said Hussein al-Azi.

He stressed that President Mehdi Al-Mashat ordered legal action on the launch, pointing out that “the attempt of aggression turned it from breaking the law into a dispute between the partners of the struggle, which is a miserable and failed act.”

For his part, Abdul Malik al-Ajri pointed out that the Supreme Judicial Council has directed to investigate the arrest of the accused in the bombing of the presidential and hold those involved accountable.”

“As far as I know, the brother, the head of the supreme political councils, is following up with the leadership of the GPC in Sanaa to take appropriate measures to contain the situation,” he said.

On Sunday General assembly of the Yemeni GPC party, Chairman Sheikh Sadiq Amin Abu Ras and other members of the party declared their unilateral boycott of the Supreme Political Council, the Yemeni House of Representatives and the Shura Council.

The move came as protest following a political decree to release Muslim Brotherhood detainees held behind bars for their role in the failed assassination attempt of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh in 2011.
