UAE projects in Yemen are not permanent: Official of Hadi govt
SANAA, Oct. 17 (YPA) – An official in Hadi’s government said on Thursday that the UAE’s projects being implemented in Yemen are not permanent and linked to its ambitions in the region.
“The UAE will withdraw all its projects in Yemen, after being expelled,” said Mukhtar al-Rahbi, an advisor to information minister in Hadi’s Riyadh-based government, in a tweet on Twitter.
Al-Rahbi’s tweet came in response to news about the closure of the UAE’s Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Hospital in Somalia in protest against the expulsion of Dubai Ports World Company. He pointed out that the UAE would do the same for its projects in Yemen.
Last September, the UAE’s representative Khalfan al-Mazrouei and his militias raided Socotra Electric Corporation and looted its generators and electrical equipment, and attacked Hadi’s officials, compounding the suffering of citizens.
