Strong earthquake hits Philippines
SANAA, Oct. 16 (YPA) – A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale shook the southern Philippine city of Mindanao on Wednesday, according to Reuters.
The quake caused cracks in some buildings and forced residents to run from shops, offices and power cuts.
There were no immediate reports of casualties from the earthquake, which also shook President Rodrigo Duterte’s hometown of Davao, one of the most populous cities in the country.
The US Geological Survey said the quake struck 69 km (43 miles) north-northwest of General Santos in Mindanao at 1137 GMT. The epicenter was about 80 km southwest of Davao.
