Syria must be free from foreign military presence: Putin

SANAA, Oct. 12 (YPA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday was quoted by Russian news agencies as saying that Syria should be free from foreign military presence.

“Any party exists illegally on the territory of any country, and in this context Syria, has to leave it,” Putin told Russian RT, Sky News Arabia and Al-Arabia in an interview. “This applies to all countries.”

Putin said Russian forces in Syria are also ready to leave “once a new legitimate Syrian government informs Moscow that it no longer needs its help.”
