Security belt commander in Abyan attracts “Abu Abbas” group

ABYAN, Oct. 8 (YPA) – Major General Salem al-Awlaqi, a leader in Islah party, on Tuesday said the UAE-backed security belt force’s commander called “al-Buhar” in Abyan province is attracting the northern Abu al-Abbas group militia, in anticipation of a battle in Shabwa.

“Al-Buhar claims his demand of the south secession and the fight against terrorism while attracting the forces of the terrorist Abu al-Abbas to Abyan to fight the legitimacy (Hadi’s forces) on his side to liberate the south,” said al-Awlaqi in a tweet.

He referred that “the northerner Abu al-Abbas” is listed by the US Treasury on terrorism lists, which are endorsed by Saudi Arabia.

Al-Buhar failed to recruit officers and soldiers of the elite force from Shabwa and is trying to benefit from the retirees in Radfan area of Lahj and new recruits from Dhalea, after the UAE pushed forces from the 13th Amaliqa Brigade, al-Jamhouria guards and members of Abu Al-Abbas battalions to reinforce the security belt forces in Abyan, according to al-Awlaqi.
