Deputy PM confirms political leadership’s support for electricity sector

SANAA, Oct. 2 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Development and Economic Affairs Dr. Hussein Maqboli confirmed the political leadership’s support for the electricity sector and the re-operation of power plants to contribute to the development of revenues in the sector.

Maqboli said that there would be coordination with the United Nations and organizations working in Yemen and government agencies to provide the necessary support for the electricity sector.

He stressed the importance of monitoring and supervising the private electricity companies by the Ministry of Electricity and the Public Electricity Corporation in accordance with the governing regulations.

This came during an expanded meeting held in Sanaa to discuss ways to activate and support the electricity sector and restart the power stations that were suspended due to the current situation.
