After releasing 350 prisoners, Sanaa hopes similar step by other party

SANAA, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Spokesman for the Ministry of Human Rights in the National Salvation Government Talaat al-Sharjabi on Monday expressed his hope that Sanaa initiative for releasing 350 prisoners would push the other party to a similar initiative.

“The prisoner file has become almost stalled due to the multilaterals and the severe disagreement between the coalition countries in the recent period,” al-Sharjabi said.

Al-Sharjabi pointed out that the Saudi-led coalition countries have significantly hindered the implementation of Sweden Agreement, especially with regard to the prisoners’ file “because they see Yemenis’ agreement against their aggressive project in Yemen.”

The spokesman expressed the ministry’s fears for the prisoners’ safety especially that the prisoners’ centers are being bombed, and the last of which was the targeting of prisoners’ center in Dhamar province.

He urged the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to intervene and to persuade the other party to move forward in the prisoner exchange file.
