SANAA, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Minister of Oil and Minerals Ahmed Daress on Thursday called on the United Nations to intervene rapidly to release gas and oil derivatives ships held by Saudi-led aggression coalition to alleviate the worsening humanitarian situation in Yemen.
This came during the meeting the oil minister held with the UN Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Lise Grande, in which they discussed the disastrous situation caused by holding of the vessels of oil derivatives and domestic gas by the coalition.
The coalition is currently holding 11 oil derivatives-laden vessels and three others of domestic gas, despite they obtained permits from the United Nations and were inspected in Djibouti, causing a severe shortage of those materials.
Daress stressed the importance of taking a clear position by the international community on the collective punishment of the Yemeni people by the aggression states.
