Fierce clashes erupt between Hadi’s forces, UAE-backed militias in Abyan

ABYAN, Sept. 8 (YPA) – Fierce clashes broke out on Sunday evening between Hadi’s forces and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s militias in al-Arqop area of Abyan province, southern Yemen, military sources reported.

Both sides used various weapons during the clashes, the sources added.

Earlier, a military source said that Hadi’s forces in Abyan mobilized vehicles, tanks, rocket launchers and hundreds of fighters towards the coastal city of Shoqra.

According to the source and witnesses, a large number of vehicles loaded with soldiers were seen moving on al-Arqop road towards Shoqra, noting that Hadi’s forces are expected to launch an attack on the city of Zinjbar.
