7 injured in bombing in Philippines
SANAA, Sept. 7 (YPA) – At least seven people were injured in an explosion at a public market in the southern Philippines, the Philippines army said on Saturday.
According to Sputnik agency, the army said in a statement that iAn armed group operating in Isolan, Sultan Qudarat province, is responsible for the blast.
Military spokesman General Arvin Inassins said an improvised explosive device was placed next to a parked motorcycle.
At least 18 people were wounded in a restaurant bombing in Sultan Qudurat in Mindanao last April by suspected members of the Takfir group.
The latest bombing comes as tensions in the volatile southern Philippines increase after three incidents in the past year that authorities said were suicide bombings of militants linked to the Islamic extremist group ISIS.
