Gunmen blow up UAE-backed militias’ headquarters in Abyan

ABYAN, Sept. 4 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday blew up an abandoned headquarters of the UAE-backed southern transitional council’s militia in Aqad area in Abyan province, southern Yemen, sources reported.

This comes a week after the building was evacuated following the military clashes between the militias and Hadi’s forces in the province, the sources added.

There is no information on the identity of the gunmen, whether they were of al-Qaeda members or Islah Party militants loyal to Hadi’s government in Abyan.
