Parliament condemns coalition crimes, Dhamar prison massacre
SANAA, Sept. 2 (YPA) – The Parliament on Monday strongly condemned the terrorist crimes committed by Saudi/Emirati-led aggression coalition against the Yemeni people, most recently targeting of prisoners in Dhamar province, which left dozens of dead and wounded.
In its meeting chaired by Speaker Yahya Ali al-Ra’i, the parliament pointed out that the targeting of prisoners by the aggression coalition came despite the knowledge of the United Nations (UN) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on the whereabouts and conditions of the prisoners who were on the exchange list being negotiated under the UN auspices.
It affirmed that the international community’s silence towards these war crimes has encouraged the aggression coalition to continue to commit further crimes.
The Parliament called on the UN, the Security Council and humanitarian and human rights organizations to form an impartial international committee to investigate all crimes committed by the aggression coalition and to refer perpetrators to international courts as war criminals.
Also, the Parliament called on the international community to put pressure on the coalition countries to stop the aggression, end the siege and reopen all land, sea and air ports, especially Sanaa International Airport to end the suffering of wounded, patients and students.
