Saudi occupation to create sea corridor in Yemen’s Maharah linking Gulf with the Arabian Sea

SANAA, April 18 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia sent more military reinforcements to strengthen its existence in Yemen’s Maharah province, private sources told Yemen Press Agency.

“Saudi troops arrived at Nashton port to boost the Saudi troops deployed in the province since early of March, the source added.

The Saudi officers made Taj al-Arab hotel in the city of Ghaydah as their accommodation, and they surrounded hotel recently by concrete blocks.

Earlier, the American Aryan Gas Company began to carry out construction work to deepen the port of Nashton, So that Saudi oil tankers can dock at the port easily, along with the construction of a sea corridor at the coast of Khalafat near of Nashton harbor, according to sources in the Maharah province.

The Saudi authorities announced in April 2016 the completion of the necessary studies for the establishment of this channel, which faced political obstacles by Yemen before the Saudi-led coalition launched its war against Yemen.

Saudi Arabia appears to have found the appropriate climate for the implementation of the project, depends mainly on Yemen which is the cornerstone of this project.

The implementation of the project started on the shores of the Arab Sea towards the Saudi  Al-Adid Khor in Gulf Coasts

It runs within an estimated distance of 950 kilometers, of which more than 370 km inside Yemeni territory.
