Photojournalist abducted in Shabwa, activists demand his release

SHABWA, Aug. 25 (YPA) – The so-called Shabwani elite militias of the Southern Transition Council kidnapped a photojournalist after assaulting him while covering the clashes taking place in Shabwa province, sources reported on Sunday.

The sources said the “elite” militias assaulted the photojournalist Anwar Laqlaf affiliated to Islah Party, before taking him to an unknown destination.

Dozens of media activists condemned the kidnapping and assault incident, calling for an immediate release of the photographer Laqlaf and stopping aggressive dealing with journalists, whatever their affiliation.
