Dispute between Tariq Afash, Islah party militants could led to armed confrontations on western coast

WESTERN COAST, Aug. 25 (YPA) – Local sources in Yemen’s west coast on Saturday have said that sharp differences have erupted between the military formations of the Islah party, known as the ” Tehamian Resistance”, on the one hand, and Tariq Afash, on the other, on the background of the conflicts currently taking place between the coalition forces in the occupied areas.

The sources told the “Yemen Press Agency” that Tariq Afash, a week ago ordered to withdraw all military vehicles and heavy weapons from the militants of the so-called” Tehamian Resistance”, which irritated them, and led them to accuse Tariq Afaash of having bad intentions against them.

In a related context, the head of the department of moral guidance for the so-called ” Tehamian Resistance ” (Wajayd al-Haqei) said that the UAE punished 3,000 soldiers of the militants, because they refused to obey the orders of Tariq Afash.

“The UAE has so far failed to change the position of the leadership of the militants who are fighting under the leadership of Tariq Afash on the west coast,” he said.

“Despite the pressures and threats of the UAE, the “resistance” led by Abdul Rahman Hajari remains steadfast in its categorical refusal to fight under the leadership of Tareq Afash,” al-Haqei said in a press statement.

“The sons of Tehama will not hand over their areas to Tariq Afash,” he said in a tone that suggests the extent of tension between the two sides.

Al-Haqei said that the UAE was putting pressure on what he described as “the “resistance” that included the suspension of the salaries of more than 3,000 soldiers in the “resistance” three months ago in an attempt to dismantle it in favor of Tareq Afash.

It is worth mentioning that the Islah Party established the so-called ” Tehamian Resistance ” in April 2017, within the coalition forces on the west coast, while Hassan Duble, leader of the ” Tehamian Resistance”, was assassinated in May last year. Tariq Afash was accused of being behind the murder of Duble at the time.
