Yemeni army repels Saudi attack in Najran

NAJRAN, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The Yemeni army backed by Popular Committees on Saturday managed to repel a large-scale attack carried out by mercenaries hired by Saudi-led coalition in Najran region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, Dozens of the mercenaries were killed and wounded during their foiled infiltration attempt on the army positions in al-Kasarah area.

On Friday,the Saudi-led mercenaries have suffered large human losses after they carried out three infiltration attempts towards the frontier front of Najran, which all were foiled by the Yemeni army and popular committees, the official said.

He confirmed that that the army and committees repelled a large-scale infiltration attempt of the coalition forces lasted for six hours in al-Hamad site, killing and injuring many of the coalition mercenaries.

“Two other infiltration attempts of the coalition towards al-Raba’a and al-Qathamil sites in al-Ajasher desert off Najran were also foiled, leaving dead and wounded in ranks of the coalition forces, he added.
