TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Thursday that his country has offered two initiatives to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries through Kuwait in light of the tense situation in the region.
Zarif said that he had offered Kuwaitis two initiatives to reduce the escalation in the region and secure navigation in the Gulf waters.
The initiatives included the conclusion of a non-aggression agreement with the GCC States, and the establishment of a joint naval force to protect navigation, according to “Al-Jazeera” satellite channel.
Zarif presented the two initiatives to the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
