HAJJAH, Aug. 3 (YPA) – The Sudanese army’s losses in Yemen in exchange for Saudi and Emirati money are mounting, surpassing thousands of dead and wounded, in parallel with the rise of popular demands in Sudan for their withdrawal from Yemen, which is not in the care of the ruling Transitional Council.
“On Friday, at least 23 Sudanese mercenaries were killed and wounded by missie attack on their gatherings in the Hiran front in Hajjah province, northwest Yemen,” The Yemeni military spokesman Brigadier Yahya Sare’e said.
“14 Sudanese mercenaries were killed and nine others were injured in missile attacks lunched by the army and popular committees at a recently established camp in Al-Taina, west of Hiran district,” Brigadier Yahya Sare’e said in a brief press release Friday night.
The Missile force have bombed a newly established military camp, using katyusha rockets and Zilizal missiles, after conducting intelligence operation, he said, adding that the strike caused a great panic and confusion among the enemy’s ranks.
” The 23 Sudanese soldiers who were killed on Friday added to the 26 troops who have been killed in sniping attacks in July by the army snipers unit on various fronts,” he added.
“The number of Sudanese troops participating in the coalition of war in Yemen in 2018 alone was about 800 officers and soldiers,” said Hamidati, deputy of the Transitional Military Council and commander of the “Rapid Intervention” forces.
However, Yemeni sources, interested in monitoring and statistics, for the operations of the Yemeni army and popular committees, confirmed that “the losses of the Sudanese Rapid Intervention Forces (Janjaweed) exceeded thousands of dead and wounded, since the beginning of their participation in the Saudi-led coalition until the end of 2018.”
