Million troops begin massive military maneuvers in Venezuela

CARACAS, July 24 (YPA) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday announced the start of a massive military maneuvers of his country’s armed forces, with participation of more than a million soldiers and PDF personnel.

Maduro pointed out that these maneuvers begin in conjunction with the 236th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader Simon Bolivar who led the campaign of liberation from Spanish colonialism in the 19th century.

“We will test our weapons, which are advanced weapons dedicated to defend our country and protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty, ” he said, asserting that Venezuela has strong armed forces and will to protect itself.
