MOSCOW, July 24 (YPA) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, Special Presidential Representative on the Middle East, on Wednesday met in Moscow with the national negotiating delegation headed by Mohammed Abdulsalam.
The meeting discussed the political process, Sweden Agreement and the steps that have been implemented by the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government, and the obstacles that the other party is making to evade the implementation of the Hodeidah Agreement, especially after the national team implemented the redeployment unilaterally from Hodeidah ports.
The meeting also touched on the importance of the Russian role at the regional level and its reflection on the situation in Yemen through calming the escalation and preventing further tension.
The Deputy Foreign Minister reviewed the Russian vision to achieve security in the Gulf region and Yemen, in which diplomatic activity began recently.
During the meeting, the national delegation conveyed greetings of the political leadership in Sanaa to the Russian leadership and its appreciation for the Russian positions in support of peace, security and stability in Yemen and the region, confirming openness to Russia’s efforts in this direction.
