Islah Party militias establish military checkpoint for raising money in Shabwah

SHABWAH, July 24 (YPA) – Gunmen from the military police loyal to Islah party’s leader Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar have set up a military checkpoint in the center of Ataq city, the capital of Shabwah province local sources reported on Tuesday.

A document issued by the local authority command loyal to the government of the the exiled “Hadi” in Shabwah addressed to the military police command in the province, revealed that the checking point has turned into a point to raise amount of fee imposed on civilian passers-by in the provincial capital.


The document confirmed that the military point had been worked on the distortion of the local authority, which showed that the development of the point was not based on the provincial security committee.

The province of Shabwa has been witnessing military tensions after armed clashes between UAE occupation militias and forces loyal to reformist leader Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar broke out in the provincial capital earlier this month.
