Security forces seize smuggled drug in Sanaa

SANAA, July 2 (YPA) – Security services in Sanaa Province on Monday seized large quantities of drugs smuggled on two trucks and two cars, which were destined for the capital Sana’a, a security official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official ” security forces in Sabrah checkpoint in Blad Arows district has seized 297 cartons of smuggled medicines on a truck.”

The official said: “The seizure of this truck, which was destined for the capital, coincided with the seizure of a pickup (Hilux) carrying smuggled medical equipment and contraband.”

“Security officers in the Bani Matar district seized 6 cartons of smuggled drugs,” the Security Information Center quoted the officials as saying.

The center of the Ministry of Interior added that the six smuggled medicine cartons “belonging to the Al Harith Foundation, seized by a medium bus, were referred to the competent authorities”.
