Lollesgaard arrives in Sanaa dissatisfied with humiliating flight from Riyadh

SANAA, June 27 (YPA) – Head of United Nations monitoring mission in Hodeidah General Michael Lollesgaard arrived at Sanaa International Airport on Thursday evening, after Saudi authorities prevented him from leaving Riyadh airport since morning.

“Saudi-led coalition countries dealt humiliatingly with General Lollesgaard during his return journey to Sanaa aboard a United Nations plane,” diplomatic sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The plane of head of the UN observe mission was not allowed to fly directly to Sanaa and it was forced to change its line to land at Djibouti to be re-inspected, despite it was inspected at Riyadh airport, the sources explained.

The sources added that the coalition forces prevented the UN team accompanying General Lollesgaard from going with him on the return trip from Djibouti to Sanaa, which caused a state of great discomfort to head of the UN observer mission.
