Telecommunications Corporation condemns coalition’s targeting communications network

SANAA, June 8 (YPA) – The Public Telecommunications Corporation (PTC) condemned the coalition’s targeting of the communications network in three districts of Saada governorate, which led to the interruption of its telecommunications services.

The organization said in a statement on Friday that the Saudi-led coalition aircraft launched over the last three days more than 13 raids targeting sites belonging to the communications institution in Miftah mount, Al-Aar and Aal-Muqna areas of Monabeh border district, in addition to the communications network in the district of Haidan.

The statement stressed that the repeated attacks and the deliberate targeting of the network’s communications and infrastructure sites comes in the context of escalating measures against civilians, doubling their suffering and depriving them of basic services.

The statement called on the international community and the UN envoy and relevant international organizations to intervene quickly to stop the repeated attacks and crimes against the telecommunications sector and its civil installations which amount to war crimes.

The statement reiterated its call for neutralizing telecommunications services and its national network as a service sector serving all citizens throughout the country.
