4 dead including policeman in attack on checkpoint in Afghanistan

SANAA, May 28 (YPA) – Three Taliban militants and a policeman were killed on Tuesday in an attack on a police checkpoint in Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan.

“A group of Taliban militants attacked a police checkpoint in the district of Aliabad this morning,  police killed three of the attackers on the spot and forced the others to flee,” provincial government spokesman Anamuddin Rahmani was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

Rahmani confirmed that a police sergeant was killed during the exchange of fire, while two policemen and three gunmen were wounded during the attack.

The Afghan forces announced on Monday in a statement that it was able to kill nine gunmen Takfirin from “Daash” during a night operation in the province of Kunduz.
