SANAA, May 28 (YPA) – The Public Works Office in the capital Sanaa on Monday destroyed 200 tons of rotten and expired foodstuffs that have been seized from markets and trade stores in several districts of the capital.
During the destruction process, Mayor of the capital Hamoud Obad said that this move comes within the framework of a wide carried out by the environment health department in all districts of the capital before and during the holy month of Ramadan.
Obad confirmed that all irregularities that are dangerous to consumers have been dealt with, noting that the seized expired foodstuffs mostly imported from abroad.
The seized expired foodstuffs, which are not suitable for human consumption, included cheese, milk, dates, juices and various soft drinks.
