13 militants Killed in southern Afghanistan
SANAA, May 12 (YPA) – At least 13 Taliban militants were killed in clashes with police in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, the Afghan Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
According to Xinhua, the ministry said in a statement, “clashes broke out between the Afghan National Police and militants in the village of Nadir Khan, Maruf district of Kandahar province, killing 13 militants and wounding nine others.”
There were no casualties on the police side, the statement said.
Clashes between security forces and the Taliban have continued in at least 25 of the country’s 34 provinces since the beginning of April when the Taliban launched their annual offensive.
