Israeli occupation forces reopen Gaza crossings as part of understandings

SANAA, May 12 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces reopened the Gaza Strip’s crossings after an eight-day closure due to Israel’s aggression on the strip and the ensuing Jewish holidays, Palestinian media reported on Sunday.

The same sources indicated that “the Kerem-Abu Salim crossing was  opened in front of the entry of commercial merchandise movement, which was partially opened in the last two days for the entry of fuel for the power plant.”

“The Beit Hanoun crossing (Erez) is also was opened to the movement of citizens who obtain permits to travel between the two sides of the crossing.”

“The occupation authorities told them to reopen the Kerem-Abu Salim crossing on Sunday as usual,” the Chairman of the Committee for the entry of goods to the Gaza Strip Ra’ed Fattouh said.

The reopening of the Gaza crossings as part of the understandings reached by the occupation with the Palestinian factions came under Egyptian mediation for a ceasefire in exchange for humanitarian and economic facilities, which Hamas asserted when it said that “the mediators assured us of the commitment of the occupation and its readiness to implement the understandings.”
