Saudi authorities set April 18 for mixing the sexes

SANAA, April.5 (YPA) – The Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information has granted the ABC Company the first license to open and operate cinema halls in Saudi Arabia.

According to the SPA news agency, theaters and movie theater company “AMC”, which is based in the United States, plans to open the first new cinema in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on April 18.

The authorities will not impose a separation between men and women to sit for watching as it happens in most other public places in the kingdom, according to Saudi sources.

Thus, the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have set April 18 as the date for the first time in the history of gender mixing.

The Saudi Entertainment authority announced that it would open 40 cinema houses in 15 Saudi cities over the next five years and open 100 houses in 25 cities by 2030, as part of plans to develop the entertainment sector in the kingdom.
