Southern activist: Sons of Mahrah will not betray our homeland

MAHARH, May 3 (YPA) -Samih Ali Naseeb, Vice-Chairman of the Media Committee of the peaceful sit-in manifestations in Mahrah province, has said that the sons of al-Mahrah will not betray the homeland, and vowed to escalate the peaceful protests in Hawf district against Saudi occupation forces in the province.

“Everyone must be in our ranks tirelessly until our demands of Mahrah’s sons in general and of Hawf in particular are achieved,” he said in a speech to protesters at the district market on Thursday afternoon.

“This is the land on which our ancestors sacrificed themselves for us, and we have a national responsibility to protect the country’s sovereignty and the security and safety of Mahrah,” he added.

Samih Naseeb pointed out Mahrah province has always throughout history rejected grievance, stressing that that “Hawf is a sea, and will not accept carrion”.

On Thursday, the Hawf district witnessed a protest against the recent Saudi moves in the district, followed by an open sit-in in front of the gate of Sarifat international shipping ports starting on Friday afternoon, organised to demand the departure of the Saudi militias and their armored vehicles, as well as the handing over of the port to the army and security forces of the Yemeni province
