US affirms continuing to support Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen

SANAA, April 29 (YPA) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday said that his country would continue in support of the Saudi-led aggression coalition’s war on Yemen, according to The Hill’s Newsmaker.

The move came as U.S. s the Senate prepares to take a vote on President Trump’s veto of a resolution to end that support.

Pompeo said that”the United States has an obligation to protect our citizens in the Gulf states.

The U.S. military is providing logistics, intelligence sharing and arms sales to back the Saudi coalition’s war on Yemen.

Congress recently passed a resolution that would have required Trump to withdraw U.S. military forces supporting the Saudi coalition, but Trump vetoed the measure.
