PM discusses humanitarian interventions with head of ICRC delegation

SANAA, April 28 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtour on Sunday discussed with Head of the ICRC’s delegation in Sanaa Franz Rauchenstein the Commission’s humanitarian activities and its current priorities.

In the meeting, Dr. bin Habtour called on the ICRC to play an influential role in coordination with the United Nations to address the file of prisoners in accordance with the outcomes of Sweden consultations and the practical proposals submitted by the national negotiating delegation.

The meeting dealt with the ICRC humanitarian interventions in the health sector and reformatories and its contribution to support efforts to care for prisoners and to ensure that they have all their rights guaranteed by the law.

The meeting also touched on the humanitarian initiative required by the ICRC and relevant humanitarian and human rights organizations with regard to the violations committed against African refugees in the city of Aden by the militias backed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
