Jared Kushner calls on Saudi Arabia to be “transparent”, but openly supports aggression on Yemen

SANAA, April 25 (YPA) – Jared Kushner, senior advisor to the White House and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, has said in Tuesday that he has urged Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to be transparent about the circumstances surrounding the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

In response to questions at a Time magazine forum, Kushner did not specify when he would have spoken to the Saudi crown prince about the killing of Khashoggi, who was a resident of the United States at the time of his brutal murder, when he was killed inside the Saudi consulate in the Turkish city of Istanbul in October 2018.

Kushner said that US-Saudi had been relations affected by its dossier on human rights and the war in Yemen, although his country did not withhold the supply of arms to Saudi Arabia.

Kushner however made it clear that he supports the genocidal Saudi invasion of Yemen, stating: “The Houthis wish death to America and launch rockets towards Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates(…..)the Saudis in the Yemen war are noble, but the way the war is implemented is not so.”

This statement is factually incorrect, as the Yemeni resistance only ever started launching missiles into Saudi Arabia and the UAE in response to the Saudi-UAE invasion that started in March 2015.

Trump has said the US partnership with Saudi Arabia is important for the US economy and for “maintaining stability in the region”.

On the possibility of a peace plan regarding the conflict between Palestine and the Zionist entity, Kushner said the announcement of the plan would be after Ramadan and after the formation of an Israeli government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, refusing to answer whether the plan would include a two-state solution.

Jared Kushner is known as a fierce supporter of Zionism, and has been given extensive leeway by his father-in-law to conduct diplomacy on behalf of the US.
