Army spokesman: Army carries out large-scale military operation in Bayda

SANAA, Feb. 22 (YPA) – The spokesman of the armed forces Yahya Sarie that the army carried out on Friday a military operation targeting the sites and gatherings of the coalition-backed militias in Bayda province.

Sarie added that tens of militias were killed during the operation in Fadhaa front of Juribat, including leaders, and dozens injured as well as dozens of military vehicles were destroyed.

He pointed out that the pre-emptive operation came on the basis of intelligence information, confirming that the militias are planning to carry out offensive operations against the positions of the army.

He pointed out that during the operation attacked the sites and gatherings of militias from several tracks, which confused the enemy and a large number of them fled their positions.

The spokesman of the armed forces said that coalition’s warplanes launched a number of raids in attempts to support its militias without achieving any progress.
