Arab writers comment on “Warsaw conference” and reject normalization

SANAA, Feb. 16 (YPA) –Outrage and indignation have been shown in streets all over the Arab world, as protests against the US-hosted Warsaw Conference was held. The conference raised the issue of possible normalization between a number of Arab countries and the Zionist entity known as Israel, and was attended by representatives of several US-backed Arab governments.

The conference also provoked Arab writers to express their rejection of the process of normalization and their attachment to the central issues of the Arab and Islamic nations.

The Yemeni Press Agency has spotted some of the writings of prominent names and personalities who made their opinions clear.

The Palestinian writer Yaser Zaatreh wrote: “This was not a conference to confront Iran, but to introduce Netanyahu into the Arab bedrooms, aimed to jump over the cause of the Nation (Palestine); it was filtered by putting it in the freezer to become forgotten (…) Shame!

It seems that the Foreign Minister of Oman enjoys his meetings with the Zionists. After Netanyahu, he met in Warsaw with Tzipi Livni, the former foreign minister of the entity. I advised the Minister to read Abbas’ negotiating documents with her to know her positions. She said that Jerusalem [the issue of Zionists claiming Jerusalem as the “capital of Israel] was not on the negotiation table, while the number of [Palestinian] refugees who would return was “zero” according to her.”

Journalist Hasan Nafea stated: “The Warsaw conference did not produce anything tangible; and it seemed to me a huge propaganda campaign led by the Vice President of the United States of America on the occasion of the Israeli Prime minister’s marriage to a new Arab bride: one from the Gulf this time, with the blessing and presence of the parents of the bride, relatives and friends. However, I think the wedding will not be carried out.”
