20 Palestinians injured by Israeli gunfire in Gaza

SANAA, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Friday when the Israeli occupation forces attacked the peaceful protesters taking part in the Great March of Return along Gaza border.

The PIC reporter said, quoting the Ministry of Health, that 20 Palestinians were injured by live ammunition and tear gas bombs. A girl and a child suffered serious injuries in the head and chest, respectively.

Hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated along the eastern border of the Gaza Strip on the 47th Friday of the Great March of Return.

The Great March of Return was launched on 30 March along the border between the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories occupied since 1948.

It is mainly aimed at demanding the Palestinian refugees’ right of return, and pressuring Israel to lift the 14-year-long blockade on the Gaza Strip.

Since the start of the border protests, the Israeli occupation army has killed 265 Palestinians and injured about 27,000, over 500 of whom are in critical condition.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Israel is holding the bodies of 11 Palestinians who were killed on the border.
