Qahtan reveals new decisions for Saudis in Mahrah, its repercussions on Yemen

MAHRAH, Feb. 4 (YPA) -The former security director of Mahrah province, Major General Mohammed Qahtani, said that the Saudi objectives in the province have become clear, and the hegemonic projects in the east of Yemen are no longer concealed.

The move came during an interview with Al-Balqees TV on Saturday evening, in which Qahtan confirmed that Riyadh is practicing continuous violations through its militias in the province.

He said that the Saudi occupation is deliberately stopping commercial tankers in ports and land outlets for days on end, with the goal of creating artificial shortage and increasing the price that Yemeni citizens have to pay.

Mohammed Qahtan revealed the existence of decisions issued by the Saudi and UAE alliance planning to prevent trade between Yemen and the Gulf states, which constitutes a major harm to the Yemeni citizen.

He added that the suffering that fishermen face in the province of Mahrah is due to harsh measures taken by Saudi Arabia in its ports, preventing them to fish freely and gain their livelihood.

Qahtan said Saudi Arabia has, since the first day its forces entered Yemen, worked to destabilise the security and stability of the country, intending to raise disputes between the tribes. Saudi Arabia is supporting some of the tribes loyal to them with money, cars and weapons.

The former security director noted that these practices have greatly affected the intimate relationships that used to prevail among the community in Mahrah.
