Sayed Abdulmalik al-Houthi meets UN envoy to Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – Head of the national negotiating delegation and Spokesman of Ansaruallah Mohammed Abdulsalam on Monday said that that Sayed Abdulmalik Badruddin al-Houthi met with the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths.

During the meeting, Sayed Abdulmalik al-Houthi confirmed Yemen’s commitment to Stockholm agreement, criticizing the other party for its intransigence and escape from the agreement by putting obstacles to its implementation, and he presented several points proving that.

Sayed al-Houthi also criticized the aggression countries’ arbitrary measures through keeping the comprehensive siege on the whole country, the continual closure of Sanaa International Airport while there many humanitarian cases such as incurable diseases that need treatment abroad, and restricting the movement of citizens, in addition to procrastination in move seriously to neutralize the economy.

He pointed to the difficulties faced by the prisoners file, which proves the lack of seriousness by the other party to expedite the implementation of the agreement, while in contrast there is full readiness by the national delegation to implement the agreement.

As a humanitarian initiative, al-Houthi told the UN envoy that Yemen is ready to hand over the sick Saudi prisoner, whom Saudi regime ignored his critical health situation and revealed the lack of humanity even towards its soldiers.

The UN envoy confirmed that he would move next days with serious steps regarding the implementation of Stockholm agreement on Hodeidah and the prisoner exchange and would work to reach an agreement on the economic side and others issues related to the truce.
