Huge fire engulfs oil refineries in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 11 (YPA) – A huge fire broke out on Friday night in oil refineries in Aden, southern Yemen, which is under the control of the United Arab Emirates an occupation force, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the sources, the fire broke out inside one of the company’s reservoirs, which contained oil residues.

The fire is extending, and firefighters have been unable to extinguish the blaze.

The sources said that the rise of the flames was a result of the residue of the oil derivatives that were stored inside the reservoir.

They indicated that the fire may extend and devour nearby reservoirs, where there are quantities of oil derivatives.

The causes of the fire were still unknown, one of the sources said.

Earlier in the last month, explosives, mines, and rockets stored underground near the Aden refineries company were found.
