SANAA, Jan. 10 (YPA) – Defense Minister, Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atfi, on Thursday chaired a meeting of chiefs and directors of military departments, during which they discussed the operational and combat training plan for the year 2019.
The meeting, which was attended by the Armed Forces Inspector General Major General Abdulbari al-Shamiri, dealt with the plan contents, as well as priorities of tasks and duties of the armed forces during the first phase of the new training year.
In the meeting, Major General al-Atfi praised the successes and victories achieved by the armed forces in its various formations during the past year, 2018.
Al-Atfi referred that the past year witnessed the graduation of several of specialized military batches which contributed to strengthening the defense capabilities and providing the fronts with qualified cadres.
The defense minister stressed the need to translate the contents of the combat and operational training plan for 2019 at the level of the practical reality in order to meet the requirements of rebuilding and developing the armed forces in line with the challenges facing the homeland, especially the colonial ambitions.
