U.S. Senate holds MBS responsible for Khashoggi murder

SANAA, Dec. 6 (YPA) – A group of U.S. Senators from the Republican and Democratic parties on Wednesday presented a draft resolution that holds Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman responsible for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The draft resolution was introduced by a number of prominent members of the Council, including from the Republican side, Lindsay Graham, Marco Rubio, and Todd Young, as well as Democrats Dianne Feinstein, Ed Markey, and Chris Coons.

The draft resolution stated that MBS shoulders direct responsibility for the killing of Khashoggi, noting that the members of the Senate have “almost certain confidence” about his involvement in the crime.

It also stressed that  Mohammed Bin Salman, as crown prince, was in control of the security team who committed the crime, “which indicates that the crown prince was at the head for this despicable act.”

The draft resolution further urged the US Administration and the international community to hold MBS responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, a boycott of Qatar, the pressure exerted on Saudi opponents, and the murder of Khashoggi.
