Sanaa condemns US obstruction of UN Yemen ceasefire resolution

SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council on Wednesday condemned the US call for suspending a United Nations Security Council draft resolution, which was crafted by the UK and calls for a limited ceasefire in Yemen.

“The state from which the war was declared on Yemen will not be part of the solution or the war cessation,” the council said in a statement.

The statement stressed that America is “which leads the aggression on Yemen and is responsible for the killing and destruction in the country.”

The council said that this position by the US aimed to undermine and coming negotiations and to thwart the peace process before its beings and that it is contrary to the UN confidence-building efforts.

It added that the US with its position “provides an opportunity for further killings, crimes and humanitarian disasters in Hodeidah and Yemen in general.”
