Saudi public prosecutor arrives in Istanbul to meet hisTurkish counterpart

SANAA, Oct.  28 (YPA) – Saudi Public Prosecutor Saud al-Fan is to arrive in Istanbul to meet his Turkish counterpart on Sunday to discuss the latest investigation into the killing of the Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country is giving great attention to the outcome of the upcoming meeting, at a joint press conference after the quadripartite summit on Syria held in Istanbul on Saturday.

Erdogan said Turkey had officially called on Saudi Arabia on Friday to hand over the suspects of the killing of Khashoggi for trial in Turkey, especially since the crime occurred in Istanbul, “if the Saudi side is not able to do this,” and Ankara awaits Riyadh’s response.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will send its prosecutor tomorrow, he will meet with the Istanbul Prosecutor, and we paying attention to the outcome of this meeting,” Erdogan said.
