Zarif: Washington’s plans to isolate Iran have failed

SANAA, Sept. 27 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the United States ‘ attempts to impose international isolation on Iran have failed, stressing that Tehran has thwarted Washington’s sanctions and its cross-border laws.

“Everyone insists on the implementation of Iran’s nuclear deal and sees it as an important agreement, and the path of the United States will lead it to further isolation every day,  ” Zarif told his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj, at the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.

“It is regrettable that the United States administration, by its harmful unilateral nature, is using the multilateral General Assembly to attack multilateralism.

” America has lost its credibility to the point that it has had to hide behind administrative measures to avoid confronting Iran in the Security Council, “he added.

In response to a question about the economic cooperation between New Delhi and Tehran in the development of the southeastern port of Jabhar, Zarif said: “The port of Jabhar is continuing well, and shipments of Indian export goods are being returned to this port and departing for Afghanistan.”

Zarif also pointed out that the Iranian authorities will work to develop the port to increase its capacity, calling on India to “employ more investments for this purpose”.
