National delegation, UN envoy discuss Yemeni political situation

MUSCAT, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Head of the national delegation to Geneva consultations, Mohammed Abdulsalam discussed on Thursday in Omani capital, Muscat, with the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, the political situation in Yemen.

The meeting touched on the reasons that prevented the delegation participation in the Geneva consultations last week, as well as several issues, including reopening of Sanaa International Airport, war prisoners, and necessary arrangements for a meeting to discuss the dialogue resumption.

It was agreed that the United Nations would submit proposals on the above issues to be discussed with the delegation and the national authorities in Sanaa.

The meeting also dealt with the humanitarian and economic crisis caused by the unjust siege imposed by the Saudi-led coalition on the Yemeni people.
