SHABWA, Aug. 8 (YPA) – A military commander loyal to Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar from was survived from assassination attempt on Tuesday in Shabwa province, a local source told Yemen Press Agency.

The coalition-backed commander, Aziz Nasser al-Ateeqi, who was appointed by “Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar” after the dismissal of Nasser al-Nuba, was subjected to an assassination attempt at a checkpoint of the elite Shaban militia.
The armed elite Shaban elements asked al-Ateeqi to stop at one of their points, but he passed the checkpoint, to be followed by the exchange of fire between them.
Al-Ateeqi is the commander of the 30th brigade, one of the military branches loyal to Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, and who secures al-Ahmar oil interests in Shabwa.
